About Me
I have been in the design industry for 30 years, managing my own design company in the Chicago suburbs. The scope of my design projects has ranged from single rooms to entire homes and commercial spaces. Initially specializing in window treatments and ultimately including furniture and fabric selection and floor/wall coverings, my passion for custom textiles is evident in all of my projects. I have a knack for repurposing and reusing materials, and for seamlessly combining vintage and modern pieces. Having graduated from Colorado College many years ago, I was excited at the chance to come back to Colorado to live near my siblings and friends. I love them, my kids, design, travel and wine, in that order, depending on the week.

The Process
From my perspective, my job as your designer is to listen and collaborate with you to create, design and manage your project in order to make your dream a reality. Knowing there are so many options available, I provide my clients unique choices at various price points to achieve the vision they have for their home.

My Inspiration
I am inspired by fabrics and colors, as well as by what is “current”, mixed with classic designs. I love to incorporate what I see and experience in the environment around me, whether from nature or from traveling to new places.

Passion
I have a great passion for textiles. I am always drawn to the fabrics of clothing, bedding, and furniture. The textures of fabrics can help set the tone and ambience for a room.

Howard Lorton
When I moved to Denver, I continued to manage my company, while working part-time in one of the Denver Design Center showrooms. When I had the opportunity to join the Howard Lorton design team, I didn’t hesitate. Compared to others, Howard Lorton offers incomparable customer service and a great value. We are professional designers, not sales people. Our design services and furniture delivery are complimentary, and our product selections are extensive. Howard Lorton is a wonderful 90-year tradition in Denver, still family-owned and family-managed for 4 generations. We bend over backwards to make our clients happy, which is a philosophy that I whole-heartedly support.

Advice
Buy the best quality furniture you can afford, even if that means buying fewer pieces at the time.

What's Important To Me
My kids and grandchildren, my family, friends and the wonderful relationships I have established with my clients are most important to me in life.
